Definition of PPEC

Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC). A PPEC center is a licensed, non-residential, day treatment program prescribed by a physician for medically complex and technologically dependent children. We provide SKILLED NURSING, PHYSICAL , OCCUPATIONAL AND SPEECH THERAPY as per physician orders.

What We Provide

We offer Skilled Nursing services for the medically fragile, medically complex, and technologically dependent pediatric population (from birth to 21 years of age). Some samples of nursing care services we provide are:

  1. Medication infusion therapy
  2. High tech tracheostomy care
  3. Wound care
  4. Foley catheter care
  5. Trach care
  6. Activity of daily living (oral hygiene, skincare, bathing, dressing)
  7. Enteral feeding/tube feedings
  8. Central line care
  9. DME & pharmacy, and supplies Coordination
  10. Educating, training, and supporting families/caregivers

Supportive Services, Children make developmental gains and achieve learning objectives through onsite occupational, physical, and speech therapy,assistive technology, early intervention, and preschool education services.Children have countless opportunities to make friends through play and other activities.

Who We Are At Bright Smiles Pedicare

At our center children with complex medical needs receive specialized health care by classroom-based registered nurses, based on physician's orders. Nurses detect and address medical issues, collaborate with other health care professionals, respond to medical emergencies, and maintain close communication with the family and physician.

In addition to stabilizing the child's medical condition through pediatricians and onsite registered nurses, PPEC staff also strive to meet each child's unique medical, developmental, physical, nutritional, and social needs.Children may attend up to 12 hours a day with a physician's prescription.

The staff at Bright Smiles Pedicare is dedicated to providing the best care for medically complex children. They strive to provide the most up-to-date, comprehensive and advance medical care for our patients while emphasizing personalized, family-centered care.

Payment for PPEC services is covered 100% by Medicaid.

Transportation services with pick-up and drop-off the children as needed.
